About Sarah

This Mamanista started as a young fashionista when my mom bought me a Fashion Plates drawing set and Superstar Barbie Fashion Face for my birthday in the 80’s. For work, I gravitate towards effortless chic, and look for great jewelry and shoes to make my outfit. I’d like to think shoes, not diamonds, are really a girl’s best friend. For the weekends, I embrace my girl next door style with more casual chic comfortable pieces that take me from errands to kid activities and family dinners at our favorite restaurant or a concert at our neighborhood plaza. No lounge pants and slippers or mom jeans for this mom!

What I Actually Bought from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!

The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is like Christmas for fashionistas and bargain shoppers! It can be a little overwhelming and I always add a ton to my wishlist then try to narrow down the needs, wants and really loves!

Thread & Supply Mix Media Fleece Jacket

I’ve been stalking this jacket since the Anniversary sale preview began! I jumped online to order it as soon as the sale opened to the public. I love the pop of blue and this looks super cozy for cold morning and evening walks with my dog or to throw on for weekends!

Open Edit Lace Bodysuit

Finding fall and winter date night outfits always feels like a bit of a struggle. I have to think about layers and sleeves and still looking a little more dressed up! I love that this bodysuit can be worn on its own with jeans and boots or layered under a leather jacket too! I ordered the ivory but it comes in three different color choices.

Dr Scholl’s All in Cozy Faux Shearling Sneakers

I’m a school counselor in a very large school that covers about 90,000 square feet so I put in lots of steps each day! I suffer from a bit of plantar fasciitis so cool sneakers I can wear to teach have become a mainstay of my wardrobe! I can’t wait to wear these this fall and winter! Who knew Dr. Scholl’s made such cute shoes now!

Madewell Gemstone Earrings Set

I started wearing my double piercings again a few years ago. It feels like an easy way to be slightly rebellious and edgy but still fit within my personality. As the statement earring trend continues, finding cute studs is harder and harder. I love these from Madewell and putting them on sale sweetens the deal!

Items I Hope Come Back In Stock so I can #AddtoCart …

These items are currently sold out in my size but I’m hoping the Nordstrom Anniversary gods smile down on me and restock!

Rails Hunter Button-Up Shirt

The reviews on this plaid button up are amazing! It’s always hard to find one that has flowy fabric and doesn’t make me look like a lumberjack! I have high hopes on this one for fall layered under vests or by itself with jeans and cute boots! Hopefully it restocks soon!

Blanc Noir Camo Reversible Bomber Jacket

I started stalking this bomber jacket early in the preview! I love that it looks lightweight and easy to layer over a tee and leggings or jeans and tee! Please, please, please Nordstrom Sale fairies, bring this back in stock soon! I like the sale price much better than full retail!

Steve Madden Fine Chain Pointed Toe Mule

As an educator I’m always on the hunt for sneakers and flats I can wear all day at work. Mules tend to work well for me because they don’t rub on my heels throughout the day! I love the texture and pattern of these for fall and winter!

5 Things I’m Loving This Month!

Beiranduo Wrap Maxi Dress

I wore this polka dot maxi dress for family pictures last fall and it’s still one of my favorite go-to dresses for events. I’ve worn it to graduations, bridal showers and out to dinner.

Blibea Boho Ruffle Swing Dresses

This ruffle swing dress is a blogger favorite and comes in lots of colors and sizes. I bought it in gray to wear on a girls’ trip to the local wineries! I’m 5’8″ and it fits true to size and doesn’t fit too short. I may add a belt in the future to cinch it in a bit more at the waist.

Tocca Eau de Parfum, Stella

After wearing DKNY Be Delicious perfume for almost a decade, it was time to make a switch! I bought a Tocca Perfume sampler to test out different fragrances that felt like a good fit. I wanted something that wasn’t so far off my previous perfume but had a more modern feel. I settled on Tocca’s Stella scent.

Ringo Invisible Ring Size Adjuster

I bought these adjustable ring sizers to keep my engagement ring and wedding band from spinning around. The package comes with a variety of sizes so it works with lots of different ring sizes. It keeps my wedding set facing the right direction so it doesn’t get damaged.

Essie Nail Polish Bikini So Teeny Blue

Getting a pedicure always feels like a treat for me! I usually save it for vacations or for special occasions. I picked this sparkling blue before our last beach vacation and love that it’s subtle but still feels summery.

5 Summer Must-Haves, $30 or Under!

You might say I’ve always been a bargain hunter! So much so that my skills earned me the nickname “Sarah Shopper” from my family! My favorite pasttime as a child was sitting with my dad and pulling the ads from his Sunday paper and circling all the things I wanted to buy when I grew up!

Here are five of my favorite summer must-haves that won’t break the bank! In fact, all five are $30 or under so there’s budget left over to pick up your favorite iced coffee or margarita!

MITILLY Sleeveless Button-Down Pocket Dress

This dress is a comfortable knit and feels fun for summer but not too short or too young at age 44! The easy cut and fit makes it perfect to wear to a casual patio dinner with my family or to throw on to run errands around town!

CUPSHE Floral Print High-Waisted Two-Piece Swimsuit

Post kids, swimsuits are a struggle to find options that give enough lift and coverage in my mid-40s and after two kids but still feel fun for summer and show off that areas I work hard to tone and maintain at the gym and trying to eat healthy! This Cupshe High-Waisted Bikini has a halter top which keeps everything secure and the bottoms have a bit more coverage in back so I can still be active with my family and not worry about what’s hanging out of my suit! Fits true to size; I’m 5’8”, 130 pounds and typically a size 4/small. I’m wearing a small in the picture.

Amoretu Printed Geometric Tunic Shift Dress

I bought this printed geometric shift dress for vacation since sometimes evenings at the beach can be a bit cool. I love the fun print and that it’s easy to accessorize with simple jewelry and a pair of neutral wedges and let the dress do the talking! I get so many compliments every time I wear this! Fits true to size; I’m 5’8”, 130 pounds and typically a size 4/small. I’m wearing a small in the picture.

PRETTYGARDEN Plaid Sleeveless Ruffle Sundress with Pockets

There’s just something about gingham that feels like summer here in the south! Dresses are such an easy way to feel pulled together and stay cool in the summer! I love to pair this classic black and white gingham sundress with cognac sandals or add a fun pop of color with shoes and statement earrings. Fits true to size; I’m 5’8”, 130 pounds and typically a size 4/small. I’m wearing a small in the picture.

CUPSHE V Neck Ruffled One-Piece Swimsuit

I love the ruffle detailing on this Cupshe one-piece swimsuit. Somehow the striped pattern and unexpected detailing keeps this one-piece feeling young and playful while still providing a little more coverage on the beach. Fits true to size; I’m 5’8”, 130 pounds and typically a size 4/small. I’m wearing a small in the picture.
